#9605 - New York Tribune 1863 War Newspaper
This is an original Monday, March 16, 1863 New York Tribune newspaper. It is in solid shape since papers were still made of cotton fiber rather than wood pulp. Thus, they do not crumble or brown like papers that were produced since 1900 era. There are 8 pages that relate news, ads, notices of CW era. This one has articles about Port Royal, a skirmish in Kentucky, and The National Militia Law. (Take note: the picture of opened newspaper might not be the exact date as we have several to sell. It is shown solely to reveal how the papers fold open) Edges are mildly frayed along one edge due to having been sewn into a bound-ledger in past and later removed. This one has some faint brown age stains on it. But very readable & solid.
