#7529 - Big Ruby Ambrotype of Thoughtful Lady. Larger 1/4 plate ambrotypes are tough to get. This is a nice ruby ambrotype of a pensive woman. The type who would read the early classic novels by Hugo, Emerson, Dickens, etc... The contrast is great. Her cheeks tinted. There are no mats or case. The cover glass was adhered to periphery of image glass in past, so I did not pry it off. It is a great original cover. So this can be popped into a 1/4 plate case in future. No ID known.
