#6555 - Type I CW Hotchkiss Nose Earlier CW Type I Hotchkiss Shell Nose or charge section. It does not have the flame grooves of later varieties. Has slight chip at upper lip. Fuze drilled through center to empty caharge chamber. So, is safe & inert now. Part of fuze adaptor tail is down inside rattling around still! Very smooth & slick. Digger's numbers painted on tail. Seems to have been recovered in 1991. A nice looking item.
