#5821 - 1862 Civil War Newspapoer from Newark, NJ
This is an original Civil War Newspaper, the Neward Daily Advertiser from Thursday, January 9th, 1862. It is comprised of one large rag sheet folded to make four pages. It has local news, products ads, services, clothing ads, public announcements, train and ship schedules, as well as a section on page two of recent War News. This paper was preserved in a bound folio until it was recently disassembled and sold off in one week lots. Thus, one edge has slight raggedness where it had been bound to book. There is a little age yellowing and a few tiny foxing spots. Not only is this great reading from the CW period, but it also is an original newspaper that would look great framed up upon a wall or hallway. Great for school lectures too! Face page is 24" by 18."
