#5687 - Gem Tintype of William Middleton This is a gem-sized tintype of a bearded Union soldier. On back of mounting card is the name Wm. Middleton written in old ink. Since there were about 60 William Middletons in the Union army during the CW, it requires more research. This came out of Illinois area but that does not say where it started with the family in 1860's. Clarity and contrast great. Gold buttons accented. The tin itself is only about 1" by 3/4" in size. Mount card has stars around opening.
