#5592 - Tintype of 76th Illinois Infantryman This is a 1/6-th plate tintype of a Union CW infantryman came from a photo album containing an assembly of soldiers from the Illinois 76th Regiment. There is sadly no ID as to who he was. He is deep eyed, pensive... a bit cross eyed. Buttons, cheeks at hat devices lightly tinted. The plate is 3 5/8 by 2 1/2". There is no mat, glass or case with this. The clarity is very good yet contrast minimally light. There is a tiny emulsion blemish or dot on his right cheek.
