#5521 - Tintype of James Harry Brigden in Uniform
This is a 1/9-th plate tintype of a bearded soldier in a Union Civil War frock coat. The buttons are gold highlighted. You can see the veteran's stripe on the cuff. Plate has ripples and bends. Clarity is good, contrast is slightly dark. Under the velvet pillow of the leatherette case is found written "James Harry Brigden, Erie, Pa." This seems reasonable enough, since the initials J.H.B. are scratched on the back of the tin plate. It's a nice ID'd CW soldier image of passable quality.
