#5424 - US Puppy Paw Belt Plate from Port Hudson, LA. This is a partial US Enlistedman's Civil War Belt Plate from the Port Hudson, Louisianna theater. It is the "puppy paw" stud style, with both puppies present but the belt tongue broken off. The bottom edge of plate below "U" is missing. There is a rough green ground-action (corrosion) to brass of face probably due to moist soil conditions. The back lead is real nice with a label from the original digger as to find location. Though rough it is sturdy & solid. A real CW veteran!
