#5145 - Sixth plate tinted Tintype of Determined Union troop This is a very nicely contrasted 1/6-th plate tintype of a thoughtful and determined-looking US private with a beard. There is pink tint to cheeks, blue to trousers and gold to belt/buttons. Great strength in his hands (see close up). The emulsion is sturdy without lifting or flaking but there is a very fine age cracklure to surface. Non ID with this image. It is a very, very nice study. Comes with original glass, mats and a half leatherette case.
