#5137 - Kerosene burner and base collar This is a brass kerosene burner from a Civil War encampment site. It also comes with a sheet iron base or collar that attached it to its original font. The "font" or reservoir for kerosene is now missing. It was likely a glass base that broke... and therefore only the iron & brass parts remained to be discovered. If you like camp items this is nice. To think, a Civil War soldier may have read his Bible or written home to a sweetheart by the light of this object.
