#5107 - Sixth plate Tintype of a relaxed Union Artilleryman
This is a very nice looking 1/6-th plate tintype of a seated Union trooper with a pastoral backdrop. His kepi is on the table and bears insignia. At first I thought they were crossed sabers but I think they are crossed cannon upon enlarging them. Sadly I can not make out the regimental number. There is no ID with this tintype. The soldier has his trousers tinted blue and buttons gold. Wears a pinky ring and watch chain. Has a nice relaxed pose and a full mop of hair. A very nice image that comes in its original brass mats, labeled along edges by their maker: Holmes, Booth, Hayden." There is no case with this image but it woulds fit any 1/6th plate leatherette or thermoplastic one from the era.
