#4684 - CW Tintypes: Two Brethren in a Union hardcase These two Civil War period 1/9th-plate tintypes came housed together in a gutta percha case. One shows a young man with pink-tinted cheeks wearing civilian attire and a large bow tie. Contrast of image is a liitle light. The other tin shows a cool-looking middle aged man in a high-collared Union frock coat. He proudly displays his kepi which bears insignia for the Company I of 27th Regiment. I think he looks a bit like Gregory Peck as Captain Ahab! The contrast and clarity on this soldier's image is very fine. Sadly, no ID came with images. The case is in super condition.
