#4151 - 1 1/8 Inch Grape Shot These are Civil War period solid shot that were most likely part of a grapestand. Typically a naval usage to take down masts but could be fired into land during shore or river assaults. Each measures about 1 1/8" across. This is solid metal ball without any inner charge. They have a slightly browned or rusted surface that is solid and not flaking. Thus, would make good desk or shelf items. Location of recovery is not known. The price and shipping cost is for only one (1) of these.
