#3311 - Civil War Newspaper January 1864
This is an edition of the New York "The World" newspaper, a popular daily publication priced at Three-Cents. It was still made on rag-based paper, so it does not rot or heavily brown like our modern pulp papers. It does have some light foxing or age spoits with minor edge nips and crinkles, but overall, is a solid piece suitable for your files or for wall framing. There is always news of the war, political news, events in New York City such as theaters and shows, classified ads and very cool product ads with current prices. Always fun and interesting reading! Great for students doing projects! In this issue: Severe Cavalry Fight Near Strawberry Plains, and Gen. McClellans Correspondence upon the War to President Lincoln.
