#3202 - False-Embroidered Crossed Cannon Kepi Insignia
This is a small, false embroidered crossed cannon kepi device from the 1850's, meaning that it could have found itself in the Civil War on the uniform of a pre-War regular service troop. (In fact, excavated example is shown in Crouch's book on page 155)Only 1" high and 1 1/2 inch wide, it is a very uncommon variant to find. Sold by Bannerman's Military Surplus house, it has their typical two wires on the back. Comes in a free Riker box for safe display.
