#17557 - Confederate Local Made Musket Cap Box with ID This is a crude, leather musket-cap box, likely made by a very small local tannery shop. It has all the features of a Confederate item, including rough cut flaps, no side ears, unique brass closure tab, and sewn rear loop bottoms. In fact, a small cut nail holds one side! Inside outer flap is ink name of "Lt. Thornton." Too many to narrow it down without a Regiment. How often do we get true CSA leather gear, let alone with a name? Here's your chance.
