#16644 - Dug Gaylord marked US carbine sling buckle This is a standard Union carbine sling buckle worn by the Union cavalryman. It has markings on backside of "US" "Gaylord Chicopee Mass" and inspector name "Sheppard". Deep green patina to metal. Both tongues present and slide freely along center bar. This has some minor bends and corrosion patches. But a great marked relic of the Civil War!
