#16307 - Battered Civil War warrior tintype
This is a very cool sixth-plate tintype of a Union cavalryman. The emulsion is flaked away around periphery, but the soldier's face and shoulders are largely preserved. He wears a cross chest cavalryman's sling-belt. His piping faintly maintains a yellow cavalry tint. Comes under original glass and fancy brass edge mats. The half of a hard gutta-percha case is fragmented at the top edge. This entire image and case has a worn relic "look" to it. No ID known. A cool battered vestige of a CW soldier!
