#16133 - 1830 Infantry Tactics Book pivotal pre-Civil War era
This is an original bound 1830 "Abstract of Infantry Tactics, for Light Infantry & Riflemen." Approved 1829 by War Department, this copy published 1830 in Boston by Hilliard, Gray, Little & Wilkins. It has a worn brown cowhide leather cover with intact spine. Has 135 pages and a number of troop maneuvers & formations illustrations. Once owned by State of Maine but no soldier's exact name in it. An uncommon dated Tactics book in that pre-Mexican War era. Older officers in Civil War could have used this as academy students.
