#16067 - Hand-Forged Cannon Vent Pick ~ CSA ??? This is a very cool hand-forged iron vent pick for the war cannon. It is not a standard Union design, so may have been quickly crafted in a local Southern blacksmith shop. Used to clean debris from cannon vent hole and to puncture the powder bag in base of tube. It is roughly 14" long. A dark gun metal slick patina. No markings. It has a bend halfway along its length which I chose to leave alone because it gives it real character.
