#15822 - Hard Cased Sixteenth-Plate Tintype cigar Trooper This is a small, sixteenth-plate tintype of a young Union private chomping on a cigar. Has slight age crackle lines image, but emulsion is set-down stable. It comes in a hard gutta-percha full case with the manufacturer's paper label behind image. There are a few chips to lip of case but closes well. Has some paper stuck to read of tin, possibly from time in an album? No soldier ID yet known. A bit dark on contrast. About 1 1/2" by 1 1/4".
