#15466 - Ambrotype of Dark Shadows Simmering Private This is an original 1/9-th glass plate Ambrotype in a full leatherette case from Long Island, New York. No ID known. The soldier in his kepi has a dark glaring visage, likely from his serious demeanor on way to war, but also because the emulsion has darkened and solarized significantly. Thus, he is in the dark shadows of time now. In any case, an ambrotype with the creepy feel of bad warfare for the price of many paper CDVs. Oddly, it might become a favorite of yours!
