#15465 - Sixth Plate Ambrotype Pensive Sergeant cased This is an original sixth-plate Ambrotype of a Union sergeant with a chin beard. He crosses his arms over his heart. His eyes are rather deep and evocative in their gaze across time. The emulsion is solid but has some serpentine cracklure effect throughout. Nice clarity. Sadly, no ID known, but came from a Massachusetts estate with no further story. This is housed in a hard-case with maker's paper "Littlefield Parson & Co." behind image. Hinges work fine and closes snugly. But one lower edge of one side case missing. Nice image of a Union NCO with soul.
