#15448 - Ninth Tintype Union trooper Doctor Bombay type
This is a vintage ninth-plate tintype of a seated Union prive wearing his uniform & kepi. Has a moustache and the "look" of Doctor Bombay from TV series Bewitched. But no true ID yet known. Great clarity in face. Some dappling to emulsion over his chest but not loose. The corners of the tin which do not show from under the fancy brass mats have images of black photo mounts. Likely this was copied from a prior original by a very qualified period photographer for the soldier or family who wanted more copies. Unclear if done at end of war or a decade later, but fact that it was made as a tin copy would make it early. Comes in original fancy CW era brass mats, but no case.
