#15388 - Top fragment of a Bronze Cross 58 New York Regiment This is a bronze Orthodox Christian crucifix recovered in a 58 th New York Regiment camp in Stafford County Virginia. This was a camp with many Polish & Slavic heritage soldiers. Thus, the Orthodox branch. This was discovered buried with a stash of sutler's discarded goods. It has top loop but no lower leg. Nice motifs and Cyrillic writing on rear. A cool relic of soldiers' faith in holy protection during war. About 7/8" high.
