#15379 - Saints on fragment Orthodox Cross 58 New York This is a bronze Orthodox Christian crucifix recovered in a 58 th New York Regiment camp in Stafford County Virginia. This was a camp with many Polish & Slavic heritage soldiers. Thus, the Orthodox branch. This was discovered buried with a stash of sutler's discarded goods. It is just one side arm from a thick bronze crucifix, showing Saint in circle on each side. A cool relic of soldiers' faith in holy protection during war. About 1 inch across.
