#15378 - Bronze crucifix fragment 58 th New York This is a bronze Orthodox Christian crucifix recovered in a 58 th New York Regiment camp in Stafford County Virginia. This was a camp with many Polish & Slavic heritage soldiers. Thus, the Orthodox branch. This was discovered buried with a stash of sutler's discarded goods. It has no loop or top strut. But center of cross and arms/base intact. Cool relic of soldiers' faith in holy protection during war. About 1 inch tall.
