#15377 - Christ and Saints fragment cross 58 thNew York This is a bronze Orthodox Christian crucifix recovered in a 58 th New York Regiment camp in Stafford County Virginia. This was a camp with many Polish & Slavic heritage soldiers. Thus, the Orthodox branch. This was discovered buried with a stash of sutler's discarded goods. It is a wide bronze arm with Christ in center and Saint on arm. No loop. Cool relic of soldiers' faith in holy protection during war. About 1 and 3/8" across.
