#15300 - Sixth plate tintype of cocky Union soldier This is an original CW sixth-plate tintype of a very young Union private seated for his photograph before entering the hail of lead. He seems a bit confident in his impish upturn of his kepi brim. He has the hands of a hard-working farm boy. There is nice clarity to image. However, there are two rust spots on the tin near his head, sparing the face. This image comes to us in its original glass and fancy brass mats but no case. No ID yet known.
