#15205 - Quarter Plate Ruby Ambrotype Friends bid Troop Adieu This is an original early Civil War ruby or Bohemian glass Ambrotype in a half of a leatherette case. It shows 5 CW era gentleman formally posed as colleagues. Four men in civilian garb are likely bidding adieu to a young man dressed as a Union troop. Contrast and clarity are nice. Sadly, no ID came in case, so the real story is lost to time. Larger Ambrotypes of soldiers joined by civilians are not common.
