#14817 - Relic Model 1860 Union Cavalry Saber
Some collectors love weapons right off the battlefield along with all the dings & damage which gives them character and soul. Well, then this Model 1860 Union cavalry saber is for you. It's brass leaves were cleaved off from the heavy brass guard. There are traces of blade pitting which tells us it was out in the rain near some battleground for years. It also has fencing nicks in the blade edge where it impacted another sword edge. Leather worn on grip. Blade was later was polished in attempt to spruce it up. That left the markings of the US Inspector and Manufacturer only faintly preserved upon the ricassos. Blade tight in grip. Overall about 41 inches. No scabbard. Battlefield now unknown.
