#13079 - 1865 Providence RI newspaper tells Surratt hung This is a copy of the July 8, 1865 Providence Daily Journal from just after Civil War. It tells of the hanging of Mary Surratt and other Lincoln assassination conspirators. Also, describes the 4 th of July celebrations in various parts of the US. This is on bright rag paper. Easy to still read. But has some tears along paper edges and at folds.
