#12862 - Storms Union Cap Box used for arrowheads
This is a Civil War leather Union capbox which was well used over the years. It has the maker's marking on inner flap: C.S. Storm's Maker, NY. There is no wool or pick. The closure flap is broken on one side. Leather has areas of surface scuffing-flaking. But still a solid capbox. Oddly, outside flap was marked in black ink "Indian Arrow Heads." Obviously a fieldwalker put his finds in this as he explored! Neat.
